NanJing museum of palaeontology

Today is my first time to go to a museum of paleontology. I am very exciting. I visit the museum with my four friends. The Nanjing museum of paleontology is not far from school. There just next the Xuanwu lake. The museum is bigger than I think. Guide said the total construction area of the museum is about 8500m2, which comprises two floors.
We buy the entrance ticket. The tickets are really cheap, only 10yuan for each one. Because we are student. When I entered the gate, I see a big globe and a big dinosaur bones. So cool! Than we watch a movie about the dinosaur. It is a 3D movie, it let me feel truth. And I see many dinosaurs lived between the Triassic Period and the Cretaceous period. The Cretaceous period ended 65m years ago with the obliteration of the dinosaurs. People have proposed all sorts of hypotheses to explain why dinosaurs have become extinct. In fact, it is thought that a meteor killed the dinosaurs millions of years ago. But we don’t know what is true. The museum exhibition something else about many years ago. Like Ape-man skull was discovered on November3 in Lantian County, Shaanxi. I am so interesting at who is my undoubted “father”.
The all exhibition theme is “Evolutionary history of life”, and I learn a lot of Paleontological knowledge. I think this will help me to which broadened my views. May be I have a

little like paleontological.

Italian food

I went to eat foreign dinner with my good friends on Feb. 17. We decided to go to TACOS. That is a good restaurant for foreign food. The restaurant is in the Zhujiang road, it is not so far from school.
We order dishes first. The restaurant is very big and bright, the environment is quite good, and waitress also has good manners. We got a menu, I like spaghetti, you know a cat what most famous in the world name is Garfield. He is my favorite cartoon character. And Garfield’s favorite foot is spaghetti. So I order dishes of spaghetti. And 2 baked chicken wings and a cup of drink.
After a long waiting time, the spaghetti is made by tomato and noodles. I was really hungry and it was delicious. Then I got my chicken wing that I order before 30minutes. It also delicious too. The last is a cup of beverage. It name is strawberry mile.
In the end, I was full enough. By the way, the tolte is so interesting.In conclusion, this Italian restaurant is very different from the Chinese restaurant. But it also can make me full. I think this is most important for kinds of food. That is the reason why I do not very like French food. I was very happy that day. I will go to more foreign restaurant next time!

School Club/Organization

Club
In GCA school, club activity is an important part of school life. Club is group of people who meet together regularly to participate in a particular activity (esp. a sport) or for relaxation. You can choice any club if you enjoy it. There are many clubs in GCA. Like volunteer club, bike club, basketball club, dancing club etc. And I join the basketball club and TV series club.
Basketball is my favorite sport. So, I join the basketball club. But it is not easy in my faction. In the beginning, about 50 people in the basketball club. Mr. Sexby said: everyone run around the playground 10 circles. That’s too crazy. I am really not good at a long-distance running. Because without their energy and stamina. But for my dream, I still run, but so slowly. After the club training, my bones almost are soft. But I keep stand to club every Monday and Thursday. After 1 mouth, just have 30 people still stay in the club. Then, I can touch the basketball... we move the training place into the gym. We beginning to practice some tactic and act in concert with the team. That’s let me learn a lot of thing is I never learned at before. In the basketball club, I know what is really playing basketball. Basketball game is five people; you can’t control the whole game by yourself. So must act in concert with the team. GCA’s basketball team is good. I hope one day I can join it.
And I join another club is TV series club. I very love watches TV since I was a little kid. So I join this club with my friends. Ms.hardley is the leader teacher.we saw some interesting series in the club.
In conclusion ,club let me school life more interesting and colorful.

volunteer work experience

I think, to a student, there are many advantages of having more work experience. First, more social practices may offer you an opportunity to display your ability and apply what you have learned in school. Second it increases your confidence in yourself because though the work you can realize your own value. Besides, it helps students develop a sense of independence. So I do a volunteer of blind school in volunteer club and do some social practices in a company.
About volunteer club, we have many chose in the beginning. About “hotel of dogs” special school for the deaf and dumb etc. our class almost chose the blind school. And the leader is Nick. At first time I got there, I saw many kids. They are so simplicity, so cute. But they are blind man. So they can’t catch sight of color, they can’t catch sight of nature, they catch sight of anything in the world. Just dark and dark they can saw it. But they still was life with they own will-power, courage and confidence. I think I really should learn from them. They can’t saw anything but they still work hard in blind school. How about me? I should work more hard, shouldn’t me? And we have played with them. We have a chat with them. We have sung song with them and we teach basketball to them. I know play basketball is too difficult for them. But they like do it, so just do it. At the end, we have to go, and we took a photo together. We said we would back again. Then we come back in after weekends. So through this volunteer work, I gained how to give love to the children. I learned how to let them be happy. And this only a little of things we can do for them.
In this winter vacation. I have done some volunteer labor in my father’s company. I help them to clean up the dirty office. During this work, I learn how to contact with the big company. I do not have any money but I am so happy.
So this just some volunteer work about me. However, social practices have some disadvantages. It often distracts students' attention from their studies. It is evident that you can hardly focus your attention on your study if you work several hours on the job. You may be thinking of how to improve your work most of the time.
Because of the advantages and disadvantages involved in working part time, you have to strike a balance between your study and the job. Study is your major task while practice is a minor one though work experience is desirable. So we just can do some volunteer work, its ok.

physical activity

Nowadays, I think health is far more important than wealth. Good health enables us to enjoy our life and achieve what we hope for in our career. On the contrary, poor health leads to nothing. How can we keep healthy? Many be you have a lots of way can keep healthy. But I think, do some exercise is most effective way.
People always said Life lies in movement. As a high school student of freshman, I do sports one or two hours a day, such as doing morning exercises, playing basketball, long-distance running, playing ping- pong and so on.
My favorite sport is playing basketball. I like it because it’s exciting and good for my health. I usually play basketball with my classmates on the playground after school. In the weekend I even play basketball every day. Sometime with my good friend, or sometime practice with my parents. Basketball is a team game. Just like NBA star said in the adidas: the game is five people. Maybe you can chop down 50cens, but you can’t control the whole game. You have to pass ball to your teammates and make good chance. So I gained the teamwork is very important in the basketball playground and some else place. But basketball game is intense .so the inevitability is you may will be injured. Four week ago ,I sprain my foot(now is already ok). So I think learn how to protect yourself in the basketball game is a important. You must don’t want to dot and go one every day, alright?
And I also enjoy playing ping-pong. Table tennis is called CHINESE BALL. Because almost every Chinese people can play it. I play table tennis since 5 years old. Table tennis is a single game, it can practice your reaction. It is easier than basketball. I like it.
Actually my inborn health is not good. I used to fail in sick . hospital like me another home. I often ask for leave in P.E. when I was a schoolchild . But when I grow up ,I fall in love with sport. So I am stronger than before. So I hope all of us can take an active part in sports , and also I wish everybody good health. because people’s health is essential in modern life.
In conclusion, if we often do some exercise, we will lead a healthy life! Doing sports is a good way to relax and keep fit. What’s more? A healthy body can help us study better and live a happier life.

Nanjing University

In December4, we visited the Wu weishan’s art exhibition. The title of the exhibition is “Wu weishan cultural figures sculpture gallery”. The artwork is made by one artist. Some of artwork is traditional; some of them are contemporary.
In the exhibition. First we saw many sculptures in a small garden. This is the big model of the true artwork. Is interesting, even you can stand into it. And then, we go into the exhibition. There are many realistic artworks in there. And a guide tells us much information about each artwork.almost sculpture describe the Chinese personage in the history or modern times.

My favorite artwork is called” sleeping boy”. Mr. made this artwork in 1996. “Sleeping boy is a sculpture with a small shape. Just like an egg. The sculpture describes a little child who has fallen into sleep and very lovely. His eyes are closed, the face is relaxed, the head is an ellipse and the mouth is opened a little. The sculpture’s lines are natural and the color is brown. He uses copper to finish this sculpture. It won the pangolin in 2006. And Chinese never had this honor in the history. His so lucky.

This artwork makes me feel very surprised. Because it is so small that difficult to make it beautiful. But Wu weishan got it. His art work gives us some inspiration about people’s beginning. I just feel a true baby fall into the sleep in front of me. Children are the most clean and pure people in the word. And the “sleeping boy” shows the most natural, most lovely. It reminds visitor a child who he met before. Include me. Mr.Wu seemed add the soul into this sculpture. He give this sculpture live.
I think this artwork is very perfect, because its main idea is very interesting and special. I like this artwork very much. This artwork reminds me of my little brother. And let me miss him .how magical it is! The sculpture like has life, has soul. It is totally different from other artworks. I think almost people will love this artwork. Because most people love children, or otherwise it couldn’t have the pangolin prize.

In conclusion, the artwork “sleeping boy” gives me much information. Let me know what most nature of people is. And I think this experience of visited the Wu weishan’s indifferent. I like it.

Have a French lunch

Originally Cherry plans us to Indian restaurant. Because there has an affordable price, pure taste, unique and the highly complementary on internet. But Hugo said his mother opened a French restaurant. So at last our class divided to the Hugo’s French restaurant.
12.21, we met at 11o’colck at NFLS’s gate. We went to restaurant together by bus. After half hour, we arrived. There was a beautiful place.
I am surprised because there is Chinese style. Maybe, foreigner is very attach importance to Chinese cultural.
Then we find the seat and sit. The music is elegant, made me feel relaxed and a little hungry. About 15 minutes, first foot was served. It is a salad of raw vegetable. I heard that vegetable was from French. That was fresh and healthy. But I can’t stand the raw vegetable. So I just try a little. Then waiter changed the knife and fork and dish.

Then, long time waiting… a lot time later, the second foot was served. It is pumpkin soup with the bread. The soup was tasted a little salt, but with bread is ok. I never taste it before. It’s totally different of Chinese soup.

Afterward water gave us main course. It was made by chicken duck and potato. And water changed the knife and fork again. The knife was tartness. We can cut quickly.

I love this food. Finally foot is dessert. It is an apple pie. The shape is beautiful and taste really delicious.
During the lunch, we drunk some drink. I discover the glass is special.
This lunch let me know what in the French restaurant. But the food is totally little. It can’t make me full. And the time was too long for wait. That’s have big different whit Chinese food. I think this lunch just so so.
